Fernando Rego, Chairman
Founder of the company F.REGO LTD., currently F.REGO – Corretores de Seguros, S.A., of which he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He worked in the former Companhia de Seguros Garantia between 02/11/1961 and 15/12/1985, during which he went through all the Technical Departments, Sales Department (General Coordinator of the Company’s Head Office), Risk Analysis (national officer) and also by the Department of Training of Agents and Employees of the Company (of which he was one of two responsible, being in charge of Non-Life Insurance).
In 1975 he was appointed by the former CCRIS (now I.S.P.-Instituto de Seguros de Portugal) as one of the two responsible for the fire and theft security of the Port of Leixões, a task that he undertook for about two years. In the 1980s he was appointed teacher for the Center for Insurance Education, by the Portuguese Association of Insurers (APS), to supervise the course of "Risk Management". He was also teacher for training courses in 1987 and 1988, conducted by APROSE – Portuguese Association for the Insurance Agents and Brokers. He was the (only) trainer expert in the training course held in Guinea-Bissau, under cooperative agreements established between Portugal and that country, by invitation of ISP - Instituto de Seguros de Portugal, in 1992.
For over 15 years, he was Vice-President of the Board of APROSE and for several years, the representative in Brussels at BIPAR - Bureau International des Producteurs d'Assurances & Réassurances, the most important body of Insurance Brokerage in the EU and Counselor for COPAPROSE - Confederation of Insurance Agents and Producers, similar body to BIPAR for Latin American countries, USA, Spain and Portugal, with its headquarters in Panama.
In 2011 he was elected President of the Board of APROSE, a position he held until 2013.
He has taken the Commercial Course at the School of Accounting and Commerce Raul Dória and he has several professional training courses which he attended both in Portugal and abroad.
